The Voto of KaJe MeG
for the International Children's Day — June 1, 2026

Epigraph
"When a Child laughs, the cannons of the world fall silent out of shame, and when a Child cries, the hands of eternity tremble."

When Childhood dictates its will to the adult world…

A Witness before Eternity
Syria, 2013. Hospital. A three-year-old Boy, mangled by shrapnel... Blood on the bandages, but in his eyes — there is no fear. A verdict. He looks into the camera, through the camera — at all of us, the adults. And with his last, torn breath he says: "I will complain to Allah about what you are doing!" He passed away. But the complaint remained. It hangs over the world like a sword.

Camera. Bandages. Lips whisper to the sky — The Trial has begun.

Lesson: When a Child's life is taken away, he takes our alibi with him. Before God, we have nothing left to justify ourselves with. A child's tear is a lawsuit. A Child's last word is a verdict.

Threads of a single pattern: Heroism one meter tall
The strength of childhood is not the future. It is the present that holds our future by the hand so that it does not fall into the abyss.

The Keeper of Memory
… besieged Leningrad. Nine lines in a notebook. Each one — a nail in the coffin lid of fascism. "Only Tanya is left" — and this one girl's hand was enough so that millions would never forget.

Nine lines in a notebook. An entire city died — Tanya remained.

Lesson: A Child's truth is shorter than an adult's lie. And it strikes right through.

The Ambassador of Peace
Samantha Smith, 10 years old. "Are you going to start a war or not?" The Answer - An Invitation.. Two Children are eating ice cream. For one week, the missiles of the entire world became made of paper.

The girl writes. Two superpowers fell silent — The world eats ice cream.

Lesson: A Child's question disarms better than the START treaty.

The Architect of Hope
A school under a canvas tarp. 14-year-old Muzoon walks from tent to tent: "Do you know how to read? Come, I will teach you." Her desk — a crate for ammunition. Her class — 40 Children.

Canvas. Crate. Chalk in a girl's hand — The school has risen.

Lesson: When a Child's home is taken away, he builds a school.

A Shield for the Weak
15-year-old Soslan from Beslan covered a grenade with his own body at the cost of his life so that the shrapnel would not reach the Little Ones. He passed away … instantly becoming a Grown Man-Hero with a capital letter.

An explosion in the silence. One heart stopped — Ten began to beat.

Lesson: The age of majority for a heroic deed — is not specified.

The Commander-in-Chief of Light
…The basement of Mariupol. February cold. Windows with a sun are drawn in chalk on the concrete floor. Eight-year-old Liza runs her finger along the rays and whispers to the younger ones: "Look, we have light. That means it's day. That means we are alive."

Chalk on the wall. With a Boundless Heart, the sun is drawn — Dawn in the basement.

Lesson: This is the Highest Aesthetics of Childhood — the ability to create a world where adults have destroyed it.

The Lesson of Childhood
A Child with a capital letter — is not a rough draft of a human being. It is the standard against which adults must measure themselves.
Laughter — is not carelessness, but a declaration of the right to life.
A tear — is not weakness, but an indictment against the world.
A game — is not an escape from reality, but its reconstruction according to the laws of goodness.
"Why?" — is not a caprice, but a sword that cuts through the lies of adults.
Trust — is not naivety, but a credit that we, adults, eternally fail to repay.
Silence — is not consent. It is when Children leave to speak with God directly. And woe to us if He hears them before we do.

To protect a Child — does not mean to give him a toy. It means to become worthy of his gaze. Because Children are All with a capital letter.

THE OATH of adults before Children
We, adults, swear:
That your "tomorrow" will not be paid for by your "today."
That your "whys" will not shatter against our "because there is a war."
That we will learn to build peace just as stubbornly as you draw the sun on concrete.

Alın Ak

P.S. "Children must be very indulgent toward grown-ups." — Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
To this final of the two pearl quotes by Exupéry framing the Voto, I, with the Boldness of a Philosopher, add: "For adults know Absolutely Nothing about Children!" — and I publish this Manifesto on the eve of the momentous International Children's Day with the hope and faith that it will be celebrated this year and in the future More Solemnly than All other holidays Put Together! — Hüseyn Qurbanov
