Where is the love in hip hop? When I was coming up there was love in hip hop. I came up on the golden era. Golden era where it was lots of love, collaborations and much peace centered across the board. Ask Lloyd Banks he knows about the Golden Era of hip hop he mentions it plenty times in his interviews. Beef and strife seems to cover hip hop more than any other genre of music. Why? I am not talking about battling that is much different. Eminem has battled many rappers none of them has ever hated him and wanted to hurt him. Beef is more so in hip hop but why? Even Drake somebody who actually has rap beef’s actually said in one of his songs and I quote”Power comes when we reunite not beef.”
The Golden Era of hip hop thrived on love, collaboration, and mutual respect—artists like A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul worked together to grow the culture. Today, beef is more visible due to media, fame, and money pressures, not the essence of hip hop. True power, as Drake says, comes from unity, not conflict.
