is a 4 hour 30 min saturday detention a cruel punishment ?

i have just got home from serving a 4 hour 30 minute saturday detention it was TERRIBLE we had to be in school at 8 45 for registration and full school uniform, inspection, as i live in england we have to wear a white shirt, tie black skirt and black blazer, the detention teacher made us stand in a line and told us to do up our collars and make sur our ties were neat and tidy, blazers had to be buttoned up and shoes polished, only then could we sit at our desks in TOTAL silence and begin our work, we all had to write an essay on why we were being punished, after 2 boring hours we had a 15 minute break then back to our desks to write an essay on what we have learned from saturday detention, after another 2 hours we handed in our work tidied the classroom then could go home , my crime i skipped a reguler 1 hour 30 minute detention to go bowling so this is my punishment, in all there was around 15 of us in saturday detention all being punished for different reasons, i think saturday detention is a cruel punishment and should be banned what do you think ?
