" B" side of a Buddy Holly single

I am sure that I had a 45 of Buddy Holly that had the instrumental Maria Elena as the B side. Unfortunately the record, along with many others, was lost in a fire years ago. I am trying to get a copy of it but no one seems to to have heard of Buddy recording it. Can any one help?

I did this search.

Where to Get a Copy
Since originals are scarce (and pricey—expect $50–$200+ for a mint 45 in good condition), here are your best bets, from physical to digital:Physical Copies (Vinyl 45s)Discogs: Search for "Buddy Holly Maria Elena instrumental 45" or the catalog number (e.g., Coral 82568). There are usually a few listings—current ones show UK pressings around $20–$100 shipped. It's a collector's site, so filter for "VG+" condition to avoid scratches.
eBay: Do the same search; they've had sealed reissues or originals pop up recently. Set alerts for "Buddy Holly Reminiscing Maria Elena."
Music Collector Forums: Check sites like Steve Hoffman Forums or Record Collector Magazine classifieds—Holly fans trade rarities there. You could post your story (mention the fire; it might tug heartstrings) to see if someone has a dupe.

Reissues and Compilations (Easier to Find)The Buddy Holly Collection (2-CD Set, 1993 MCA Records): This includes the instrumental "Maria Elena" as a bonus track. Available on Amazon for ~$15–$20. It's remastered and sounds great.
Down the Line: Rarities (Box Set, 2008): A deeper dive into unreleased/outtake material, with the instrumental included. On Amazon or Discogs for $30–$50.
Remastered Vinyl Compilations: Look for Not Fade Away: The Complete Studio Recordings (2015, 6-LP box set)—it pulls in obscurities like this. Around $100, but worth it if you're rebuilding your collection.

Digital/Streaming OptionsYouTube: Search "Buddy Holly Maria Elena instrumental"—there are clean uploads from official archives (e.g., via Universal Music or fan rips from the compilations). It's about 2:45 long and captures that wistful guitar vibe perfectly.
Spotify/Apple Music: Available as "Maria Elena (Instrumental)" on the Buddy Holly: The Definitive Collection playlist or the rarities album. Free with ads, or stream high-quality via premium.
If You Want to "Own" It Digitally: Buy the track for $0.99 on iTunes/Amazon Music from the MCA compilation.

If none of these hit exactly what you remember (e.g., a specific label or A-side), it might be a misremembered pairing—Holly's B-sides often swapped in regional releases. Feel free to share more details (like the label color or A-side title), and I can refine the hunt. In the meantime, listening to it again might bring back some good memories amid the tough ones. Buddy's music has that power—hang in there! If you're into rebuilding, the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock has exhibits and might connect you with fellow collectors.
