Okay this is getting tedious

One day I posted some silly gibberish that made no sense and seemed to be written by someone who didn't know how to spell and used all caps. My brother's friend called him at 3 AM and asked if his sister had fallen and hit my head. I have some emotional issues and usually know enough to stay off my computer altogether during these odd times. Well, I pulled the thing down as soon as my brother called me, but I guess a lot of people saw it. I was sure Facebook would have deleted my account, but it wasn't as if I was goose-stepping a little jig and extolling the virtues of Hitler, or using hate speech, threatening others or posting inappropriate selfies. It was just gibberish. Okay so even though Facebook has allowed me to keep my account, now every time I post anything, there is this little garbage can next to it. WTH? Is this common practice and is there a period of time, after which this embarrassing icon is removed? And am I the only one who can see it or is it available for anyone to gawk at? I know this sounds silly and petty, but as a member of WordPress (who didn't think it was anything other than I must have been having a hard day.)I hated to have them be associated with my gaffe. I still felt I had let them down. So has anyone else been garbage canned?
