What is Social Anxiety?

Can someone explain what social anxiety really is? I always feel nervous in social situations, like I’m being judged. Is this normal or something more serious? Would love to hear if anyone else feels the same.

@rosaliedean,
You should speak to a therapist about it as there may be more to it than that. I think a lot of people experience social anxiety and it's probably pretty normal, especially if you are introverted, shy, or insecure.

@rosaliedean,
Pls read on r/antipsychiatry and r/antipsychiatrywomen on reddit about mental diagnoses, they aren't true and hide that the "crazy people" are actually bullied often times. Don't go into the trap of psychology.
Social anxiety doesn't exist as a gentical disorder. If you don't want to go outside because you reconized others judging you badly then they bully you. I suffer from this and can't go outside anymore because people gossip and bullie me for my face and hair. I get called ugly, and I am laughted at for my disability in this environment. It's very rightwing where I live, I cannot easly move because I am poor and have no social support, no friends no family. The people don't care. It's not of mental illness, it's just discrimination they dislike me because ofbhow my body appears. Others suffer from this too, see on reddit r/ugly or r/foreveralonewomen.
I am getting lookism (ableism, misogyny) classism and even queerpobia because I don't look like healthy cis woman, I look more like I am trans but never took testosteron.
Psychology is nothing other than victimblaming and excusing the bullies. It's very harmful, the people who work in asylums are highly psychopaths they are very ill and harmful.
