Oh.
Next question, why ISN'T it true? I'd kill for job opportunities like that, man! (Well, OK, don't know much about it. I take it you're utterly uninterested?)
Good question. I don't know why it didn't click in my head to ask him about that. ****, maybe it's because it was only a couple days ago that he figured out when he was going, and I was firmly in bum mode this week.
Although we have talked about his recommending me for the spot if he leaves. I'm not that thrilled about the job, to be honest, but I guess it would depend on how much I really want to stay in NYC. Today I'm leaning towards moving and getting out of graphics altogether. We'll see.

I like to do that too. If you see me there, don't wake me up.
Soz, newspapers need employees that know how to read.
Lucky for Slappy they don't care about that in sales jobs.

Say something like, you're so focused on finding work that you reflexively said "yes," but on further consideration realized that what you really want is something that would lead to longer-term work, or at the very least lasts much more than a week itself.
That seems reasonable enough to me. Better that you didn't say yes in the first place of course, but if you're only choices are a) do it, b) renege on saying yes, the above seems like a reasonable way to do "b".
Exactly. Just say you had second thoughts, but also ask for something that would make you want to accept the offer, like I would consider it if you were able to offer me _____________. Everything is negotiable.
