I had 2 Kings in my hand and the first card was turned over as a new game began. The card was a King. I took the King and added it to the 2 Kings in my hand for a meld of 30 points. (This was a new game so everybody needed 50 points to meld). I then took 2 Aces from my hand along with a Joker to make another meld of 90 points (Aces = 20, Joker = 50). One opponent from the other team objected to my actions. Was I wrong?
@HitTheRoadJack,
Okay, no one has replied so let me rephrase the question. She later told me that she objected to the ORDER of my placement of the melds. I always thought you had to take the discard pile FIRST before putting anything down. She says I should have put the Aces down first to show that I had one meld BEFORE picking up the King. Is there an order to using the Discard pile on the initial meld?
@HitTheRoadJack,
i doubt any of the regulars here play Canasta, sorry...
