I say it is unfair for humanity as a whole to suffer physical death based on the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. God knew that Adam and Eve would disobey Him by eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This act alone brought to the world the curse of sin and through sin spiritual separation from God that led to physical death. Of course, this is the Christian explanation for death and dying. All religions have an explanation for death, dying, and the afterlife. The question remains: WHO IS RIGHT?
If this life is all there is, then everything is valueless. If the grave is the last stop on the train of life, then there is nothing to live for. Good and evil is fake. Nothing matters under the sun. If life after death is not possible, the joke's on us.
If this life is all there is, then everything is valueless.
I don't have faith nor believe in a life after death, but it doesn't follow that 'everything is valueless' or 'Nothing matters under the sun'
When my mother told me she loved me the words had value, and will continue to have value until the day I die or until I can no longer remember them, those words made me happy though I cried, and still make me happy when I think of them, and I still cry. The value in life is to experience emotions while we're here not worry about what will or won't be after death
There's no conceivable evolutionary purpose for "life after death", other than as a myth which provides illusory comfort to those who temporarily believe in it before they too die like every other living thing.

But if people don't die, everything is valuable? Seems to me, life is more valuable if it's certain to end.

Right, there's nothing left of you to live.
Quote:
Good and evil is fake. Nothing matters under the sun.
These are value judgments and have no relation to life and death.

Instead of spending your time trying to discover what life and death is all about, which you will never know FOR SURE in this lifetime, just appreciate what you have and live your best life.
It's irrelevant what people say about life after death - who knows for sure? They could all be wrong; therefore, it doesn't matter.
I believe that God created humans to have a relationship with Him, to love and serve Him, and to steward His creation. We were made in the image of God, which implies a special purpose and responsibility. Life after death means a reunion for those in Christ.

You and I are privileged to stand on the cresting waves of prophecy---to live in a time closer to the return of Jesus than any other generation in the history of the world. Death is not the final chapter of humanity. The word death means SEPARATION. Because Jesus died on the cross, those in Him have lives that are forgiven; because Jesus rose from the grave after three days, those in Christ have lives that never die. Death is a door into another realm that never ends.

@usn0814,
You should have made your beliefs clear in the beginning. If I'd known you were that doctrinaire I wouldn't have bothered responding to your question.
I stumble on the pin I'm dancing (dancing)
My shadows precede me (precede me)
Here's where life's dream lies disillusioned (disillusioned)
No grip on reality
Then I hear angelic echoes (echoes)
Laughing with mockery (mockery)
The existential gloom I'm facing (I'm facing)
No grip on reality
On the edge of reality, god sits there tormenting me
The god with the nameless name
On the edge of reality, where god overpowers me
With fears that I can't explain
God drove me to the point of madness (madness)
The brink of misery (misery)
If god's not real, then I'm condemned to (condemned to)
No grip on reality
On the edge of reality, god sits there tormenting me
The god with the nameless name
On the edge of reality, where god overpowers me
With fears that I can't explain
God drove me to the point of madness (madness)
The brink of misery (misery)
If god's not real, then I'm condemned to (condemned to)
No grip on reality
If God's not there,
guess who went away?
If God's not there,
you know who's gone astray;
And if the shattered pieces from
your dreams you can't repair,
your life He'll mend for just a prayer.
Yes, God is still there.

I think you have answered your own question. You have your beliefs, you shun others and now you are congratulating yourself (once again) for your personal beliefs about your version of religion. Frankly, this is fast becoming tedious.
