I have heard it can lighten the skin and reduce acne, but it may also cause irritation or sensitivity to sunlight. Have you ever tried this? What precautions do you think should be taken?

@EllaKnox,
Never heard of this, and not planning to try it.

@roger,
Do you have to swallow them whole???? Sounds awful.

@glitterbag,
P.S. I don't have acne, does that negate my response?

@glitterbag,

But on the upside, if you tried to swallow them whole it would take your mind off the acne.

As a topical application it’ll irritate the skin as it is an acidic solution. If there are freckles, in theory it can lighten them I’ve heard. It’d have an adverse effect on acne as it’d dry and irritate the area. I’d not risk my health with it, nor would I advise anyone else to do that. I’d see a physician or a dermatologist.
