The anti-universe hypothesis suggests that every universe has an anti-universe that balances the symmetries between them. The anti-universe of our universe would be a mirror image that runs backward in time before the Big Bang. In this anti-universe, matter would be anti-matter and time would run in the opposite direction to our universe. If true, the theory could explain several aspects of our universe. This new model suggests a partner universe could explain accelerated expansion without the need for dark energy. From a quantum theory perspective, it is natural for the universe to be created in pairs. This idea lies in its simplicity and naturalness, setting it apart from existing explanations.
