Regrets...

Reply Tue 30 Aug, 2005 07:41 pm
I regret that when I was 16 I did not buy a "bag lady" some rotisserie chicken when I saw her looking at it with great longing in a deli window.

I regret that I did not buy Microsoft in 1985. I regret I did not sell Oracle in 1997.

I regret that in anger I told a former boyfriend I wished him a slow, painful death and about 6 months later that is how he died.

"Regret is a wasted emotion." But that doesn't make it go away

I agree, Amigo.

I regret that last round of post-break up sex with The Bastid.

I regret being impatient with my niece.

Yep. I know what you mean. I regret letting "the one that got away" get away!

You do know that is from the song "my way?" Its a beautiful song, I felt like singing the whole thing when I read your post.

I regret:
- not studying harder when I had the opportunity, when I had the chance
- not being nicer to people who didn't deserve my horridness
- gaining all this weight and now finding it difficult to lose
- not asking for contact details of important people who I may never see again
- not learning chinese when younger and now struggling with many langauge difficulties
- having to regret.

I don't regret anything. Everything that has happened to me in the past has played a part in where I am today. And while today isn't perfect, It is moving in the right direction. I like where I'm at and regretting the past would mean regretting the present.

I regret banging the anorexic chick. That disgusting image haunts me to this day.

But I had no choice.

When I was a child I sneaked up on the family's pet canary and yelled "BOO!". The canary immediately dropped to the floor of its cage, lying upside down and panting heavily. It died soon afterward. I haven't told anyone about that before. I regret it very much.

That's funny.

But only because I'm not the one that killed an innocent birdy.

There have been some temporary regrets over the years but they all turned into positives once I looked more closely and realized that the situations which took place were all part of who I am and were part of the formation of the me who is still evolving.

So regrets have existed but I can't be bothered holding onto them for any length of time since that would in effect be saying that I don't like me which is not true because I do like me.
