I'd forgotten how fun this is.
All quiet, peaceful,
fat cat sleeping on my chest
sneezes in my face...
Earth's secret weapon.
Cat locates target and heaves
fur balls twice his weight...
Cat and dog in car.
Dog slobbers happiness. Cat?
Screams "This is NOT FUN!"
Tiny ear hair silk
Sleepy baby ear twitches
I have my feather
My old cat watches
kittens jump, twist, leap, play, hunt.
Ah, sweet memories...
Not haiku, but a line changed in a famous poem. I think there is no other place to put it except here. After this, back to haiku -- unless someone else wants to "Cat-ize" a famous poem...
:-)
"The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And cats to feed before I sleep,
and cats to feed before I sleep..."
My hunter-killer
offers me his latest prize:
One grasshopper leg.
A piece of red ... stuff.
"Oh, is that for me? Why, thanks!"
He thinks I ate it...
Awakened from sleep
by last sound of a fur ball
hurled upon the bed.
Kitten in a cage,
still too small to jump into
Big Cat's litter box...
@Seizan,
Big Cat's litter box...?
carcasses left on the lawn
illegal pet cat
Wiggles hind-parts fast,
The spring to send her skyward
Oh noes, puppikins.
Plinks across the keys,
Plinking soft piano notes.
What feet-songs Cat plays!
@Lash,
Cat fur on my clothes
Pawprints on all my counters
But I miss our Roy
Sidewinder prances,
Closer, dances, arched-back flight.
She retreats to spy.
Carefree and supine,
Sprawled on a newspaper,
In sunlit glory.
@hightor,
In sunlit glory
Totally unaware that
To the vet we go.
(we're leaving in 10 minutes or so)
