I use ride share services fairly often.
One day I may write a piece about my encounters with drivers, good, bad, ugly, hilarious, and harrowing.
I thought I’d share one such encounter with my dysfunctional A2K ‘fam’ 😀.
It happened over a year ago - before these indictments, but during the already heated media upheaval about whether or not justice would, should, and could be pursued on Trump and his rotten crew.
My driver was a Black man in his late 40s - early 50s. He was from Jamaica by way of the Bronx. His car smelled of Kush. The conversation was lively and enjoyable, mostly about food and music.
I was buoyed up by the guy’s personality. He had a resolute optimism that came clearly through. He talked about being grateful for whatever he had in life and trying to make the best of things wherever one finds oneself.
But at some point, somehow the subject of Trump and government came up.
His whole demeanor slowly shifted from sunny to ominous.
He said one thing about Donald Trump that chilled me and stayed with me.
This lovely, friendly, accommodating man found my eyes in the rear view mirror and said “I never wish death ‘pon any man - all my life. I wish death ‘pon this evil man.”
How sad those words made me, though I immediately understood him, and told him that I understood.
I think it’s important for everyone to understand the depth of that.
@Bogulum,
It's the only way we'll get rid of him. Although I'm sure there will be "sightings" for many years following his demise.
