You know how you're supposed to be able to tell how long winter will be by reading the stripes on woolly bears? I think you can tall how hot it is by how fast they crawl across a blacktop road too. Those poor little buggers were really moving today! Hot as it is in Maryland, it must have been like walking across a frying pan!
"Short dog, long winter." Say this whenever you see a dachshund. It drives people nuts.!
You can also tell the temperature by the length of a sleeping cat. You will have to calibrate your kitty first, of course.
