How to simply delete a Yahoo email account

Why bother?

Exactly, if it's not being used Yahoo will probably delete it if they haven't already.

Speaking only for myself, it seems like the proper thing to do...

FWIW, already discussed with Yahoo Support guy and he said 'they' are not allowed to delete someone's account...

you would have to login to it in order to delete it.

i imagine it's fairly straightforward...

".....All I've gotten in my many attempts scattered over many weeks is repeatedly a pop-up with words to the effect:
'Service unavailable right now, try again later'....."

that's odd... have you tried deleting it on the yahoo app?

Never had / used any Yahoo App...always just used the normal web connection.

The steps are clear of where to go to delete an account, I go there, walk through the steps then get that message something about "service not available right now, check back later".
Was hoping someone in the community group knew of a different approach.

The App you're referring to...is that a windows 10 PC based App, or a mobile App for a smartphone ?
