In addition to producing an inflammatory response at the site of infection, I assume the body also produces anti-inflammatory compounds. For adult-onset rheumatoid arthritis starting age 40, could this be because the body has stopped producing some anti-inflammatory compounds, or because the inflammatory response has increased, or both?
I acquired RA at the age of 40 and at the age of 62, my skin started producing less vitamin D, so the question is in part, at what ages does the body stop producing health-maintaining compounds that it produces at age 25?
