Children are placed with family members, often grandparents. This mode of placement has been used for centuries and is today a form of foster care endorsed by child welfare agencies, government agencies responsible for administering child welfare programs, and child welfare professional organizations. Some kids that are placed in foster care their whole life change, they change, they become a whole different person they can turn out to be this bad person or the people that they are placed with change them. Older youth’s reasons for entering care differ from those of their younger peers. Older youth are more likely to enter care due to neglect or a behavioral problem than their younger peers. Some foster parents do it for the money and treat the kids like nothing. To better foster care it should be revising training for social workers, administrators, and judges to address neurodevelopment and family and community issues.Federal policy approaches might include fiscal incentives and greater state accountability measures to ensure the availability of trained and qualified foster parents to meet the needs of children and communities. Programs that support foster caregivers to better address children’s needs. Interview people on why they want to become foster parents and have a valid reason why. Having parents work with the kids to find a good job, and home before they turn 18 so they can help themselves and not keep going from home to home.
