If we run a regression Y=a+bX and find a significant positive result for b. Then suppose we add another variable to the regression Y = a + bX + cZ. Which of the following is correct?

Are either of the following correct?

1. If the coefficient c is not significant, the coefficient b in the new regression will
stay positive.

2. If the coefficient c is estimated to be negative, b will stay positive.
