Nope. Tryin' to close in on it a day at a time?
Ahhh, whuttever - its November 13th ... Roosevelt was President.
16 years ago on November 13th, Tim Berners-Lee posted that web page, the first "www" page ever posted - The 'Net had been around a while, but The Web was born with that page, which, as expanded upon through its daughter pages, essentially sets out and defines the parameters and characteristics of The Web ... yup, The Web is gonna be 16 this year.
When I was 16, Ike was President, the Interstate Highway System was a plan, there were no artificial satellites, consumer stereo records had not yet arrived, FM was for build-it-yourself geeks, Elvis was king - while vinyl 45s and LPs had come to dominate the market, Elvis still could be had on shellac 78s, a portable radio with battery (big, pricey, disposable only, good for a few hours at most) weighed at least 7 or 8 pounds, and a computer was the size of a modest house, a capital asset the use of which was confined to governments, major universities, and huge corporations.
Oh, and a dollar would by 10 Cokes, or 10 comic books, or 10 candy bars, or around 4 gallons of gas. I wuz pissed when pop, comics, and candy bars went to 12¢.
