Signing in Amazon

I've been buying certain products through Amazon without a problem for some time. But the new sign in policy has me locked out. After you sign in they send your phone a message. But my phone doesn't have internet, so it can't respond. I've tried every which way to get through to Amazon to let them know this doesn't work, but they don't seem to have any channels that work. Any suggestions?

@edgarblythe,
Have you tried to sign in from a source you have used before? I usually get this if I am signing in from a source...computer or phone or whatever that I have not used before.

Another call them...might be the only way.

You might be able going forward to have them send you an email instead for texting you so this doesn't happen again.

I'm permanently signed in. I just go to the site and they know who I am. This is true both on my PC and on my phone.

@Linkat,
Can't find a phone number. Help buttons send you in circles. It's the same computer I have always accessed them from. THey always did this by email in the past.

@edgarblythe,
So I went on Scroll to the bottom right hand side click help, Then in the gray box a little down under browse help topics click need more help, And then a little to the right of that click contact us, Then choose need help with something else, And then choose something else, Then I need more help, Then you could do an online chat or choose to have them call you...

Now that I remember it I used the chat last time and they were able to help me...but there once was a number because I know I called them before. I think they changed to this option instead ..they really try to avoid the phone. I find the chat easier because often times I have a hard time with the accents.

It's no longer urgent. The product I intended to buy isn't what I expected. But I hit those help, extra help things and just went in circles. I'll try again later on.

@edgarblythe,
I have never had them asked this question. I am usually signed in all the time and they did asked if I want to give my phone number, but I declined. I don't want every business to have my cell phone number.

@CalamityJane,
Prior, they were sending email prompts. I don't know why it changed. I don't recall giving them my phone number but I must have somewhere along the way.
