If you have any trouble falling asleep at night or just want a technique to relax in bed, here is a simple process that I discovered on tedx on YouTube.
Position your hand on a comfortable part of your body and start tapping rhythmically at about the tempo of a ticking clock. Keep a normal, steady breathing rate. Keep tapping for two minutes or so. If your hand gets fatigued, try a different position or switch hands.
Slowly reduce the tempo down to one tap every second or two. You may forget to tap because you're so relaxed, but just continue again at the same slow rate.
You may not fall asleep, but you'll notice a definite state of relaxation.

So true. If sleep doesn't seem as it's going to happen, the worst thing is to get fretful and frustrated. Just enjoy the peace, the comfort, and relax. Chances are, you'll drift off.
