Does anyone know of any insect leaving a hardened yellowish clear sap like substance being left behind by an insect? Being found on interior of residence around door frames and in kitchen by windows.

I've never heard of that. Sounds like you might need to call a pest control company.
Have someone test the material........you could also send a photo to a pest control company and get advice/help from them.

Where abouts are you?
Insects that abound in Arizona may not be so common in Maine.
Have you asked your neighbours? If it is insects they may have encountered them before and know what they are.
