Woman hears rattling in her car. Garage finds human teeth inside

Hearing a rattle from your car’s engine is never a pleasant sound, but one New Jersey woman was in for a shock when human teeth were discovered inside her car.

The woman, who was not identified, took her car in to a Goodyear service center in Linden Monday morning after hearing a ratting noise coming from the car, Linden Mayor Derek Armstead told NJ Advance Media. But instead of finding a mechanical complication, mechanics found human teeth, hair, and other fragments.

Police say the woman was involved in a multi-car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in December, and might not have realized she struck a person at all. It was likely the teeth were missed during an initial investigation into the crash, police said.

She is not facing any charges related to the remains, officials said, but it was likely an upsetting experience nonetheless.

@bobsal u1553115,
You'd think they'd have noticed something at the scene at the time, wouldn't you? Someone would say, "Ethel used to have teeth." Or "Ethel was in the back seat - where is she?"

@Mame,
The article suggests there were a lot of cars involved and that she took mild damage. I'd think there'd be some amount of blood, too.

New Jersey, almost Heaven, but more like Florida.

@bobsal u1553115,
Everyone would have to be accounted for. Weird.
