I wasn't trying to be mean but different areas adopt different names. Rosy-Doll might be adorable while she's an infant, but it does not wear well in the long run.

Good point. But I never called you out.

Rosy-Doll probably wouldn't be the best here in the US, but in Hong Kong (for example) would be pretty standard, IE: Sir Run Run Shaw.

I had an elderly aunt named Dolly. Thinking of Dolly Madison. Could it be much more of a stretch for the middle name to be Rose?

If you can accomplish that, all bets are off for nicknames. You’d have carte blanche.

Dolly Rose 🌹?
Doll 🥀 Rose.

I mean, beauty’s in the eye of the beholder…

Yeah. Rose Dolly or Dolly Rose are good. I think of official names as being themes and nicknames as being variations on the theme.
