QUANTUM IMMORTALITY

Quantum immortality theory states that we never really die and that we just wake up in a parallel universe. Nobody ever actually dies and consciousness never experiences death. Instead, whenever you die in one universe your consciousness just gets transferred into another universe where you survive. So, for those who may be excited or intrigued about the concept of an apocalypse, sadly, you're just going to wake up somewhere else. So after the possible apocalypse occurs, you're going to find yourself in another reality. The theory is saying even if the Earth is always being destroyed, our consciousness just moves onto another parallel universe- and then another one, and another one. This may be shocking to some; the thought of never being able to actually die. Any encounter with mortality sees a branching universe, so that while one version of us dies, another always continues to live- even to the point of immortality. As one philosopher writes, should we fear quantum torment, since the number of such increasingly survival branches is infinite, given that the probability of not surviving will never happen
we should expect to live forever. Are we in fact doomed to spend eternity unknowingly in a state of immortality. According to this theory the answer is yes.
