Where to live in Baltimore

Hi,

I got a new job recently, well it's all but a sure thing. My wife and two small children along with myself are moving to Baltimore Maryland. The job pays well, but it will be stressful. But if I can provide a better life for my family, nothing is too much to ask. Does anyone have any suggestions for safe areas to look at? Where are the neighborhoods with the least crime and black people? Where are the good schools? Are there any areas where the traffic is less congested? Are there any areas located near waterways? I would prefer living closer to the outskirts of town. Does anyone live in Baltimore or have experience that could offer suggestions?
