@Linkat,
In that same vain - and this was when I younger - I went into the office got off the elevator and proceeded to go to my desk - when I got to "my desk" and went to sit - it appeared to be different I could not figure out why and then I looked around - it was very strange....then I realized I was on the wrong floor.

@Linkat,
I almost got into the wrong car. White Toyota 4-door hatchback. Stopped driving that one a few years back, now I lease a blue Honda N-Box... Wondered why my transponder key didn't unlock the door until I realized that the white car was full of stuff I didn't own, and could hear my own car door click to unlock a few cars away.

@edgarblythe,
Me too, though mine still uses a key. I've got a silver Corolla, and one silver car looks very much like all the other silver cars.

The actor Ben Johnson has been in my western movies all of my life. But I could never remember his name no matter how I tried. Until I began to associate his last name with a male's unmentionables. Now it pops up without prompting.

So I have I only told one person (my daughter at college cuz she was feeling home sick and I figured it would make her laugh) - as this is completely embarrassing and since you guys do not know me in "real life" --- ok I had these pair of pants that had slit in the butt - I meant to throw them away and had put them on the floor in my closet to do so later.

I forgot about it --- the other day I was trying to throw something on just to go out and run an errand. Yep I spied them on the floor and thought they must have fallen off the hanger and put them on. Left went to the store to pick up the two items I needed, then proceeded to the gas station to fill our lawn mower gas can and went home. Upon getting home I went to sit and to my horror realized I had been to the store and also crouched down to fill the gas can with torn pants.

Yep I guess I have fully lost it. And yes I did remember after that to throw them away.

@Linkat,
That's funny Smile

Before I got my prescription glasses, I wore readers (cheaters). I had about 8 pairs that were all over the place (purse, pocket, car, desk, etc). I was always looking for a pair which is why I had so many. One time I went to work (library) and someone said "I like your glasses, but why do you have 2 more pairs on the top of your head?" You know, you shove them up there when you're not reading and forget all about them, lol.

@Linkat,
I was in a similar situation once when I was very young. Happily, I saw a tailor shop and was allowed to borrow a thread and needle before proceeding to my home.

@Mame,
I try to play the NY Times Spelling Bee every day. And being (perhaps) a bit too critical of myself? I mostly do fairly to poorly.

It's a word game where you make words (4 letters or greater) from the above set of letters provided with the condition that you must use the letter in the center (always/no exceptions).

Now, I admittedly am not the most disciplined player and don't regularly play the same amount of time or effort. But the next day when the comprehensive word list is published for the previous day's word puzzle come out, I see far to many common words I didn't catch from what should be pretty damn obvious.

The mild anxiety comes in: did I miss them because of general loss cognitive skills due to aging or was my brain just not configured to suss out words from this word puzzle arrangement/design?

@tsarstepan,
I love that game. I love most word games. I play Text Twist, Boggle and Scrabble every morning and sometimes in the evening.

I do too - I think I need to get a new game on my eReader - currently have trivia I play against others - but I do really like those word games - will need to have my kid put it on for me.

Cuz I am old.

@Linkat,
I'm older than you, hon, and I could do it Smile

This is the site I use:

https://www.wordplays.com/help/text-twist-help/

Just open it and bookmark it.

And Words with Friends 2 for scrabble but it's a little bit of an odd game - they don't count the same way (for example, if you cross two double word squares, you get 4x the points) and different rules - they allow some words I've never heard of and that certainly aren't in the MW dictionary. But once you get the hang of it, it's fun.

@Mame,
Maybe I am more advanced than you - my games are in the form of aps - but I think I will try that website

But another lose it moment - so my daughter caught this cold and the family she is a nanny for wants her to take a covid test (even though the entire family had a cold and none had covid) so any way.... she was out trying to find a rapid at home test and couldn't find it so I looked on line and found her the earliest appointment for a rapid test this morning (this was yesterday afternoon). I did not want her to lose the appointment so I booked it for her.

Later on she tried to upload her insurance card to the site and couldn't because her birthday date was not correct. She, of course, put it in correctly apparently I did not. So she figured I clicked the next year or something by accident as it is a drop done - she even tried her sister's birthday nothing. So I told her = just go to the appointment tomorrow and hand them your card.

This morning upon waking it hit me - I think I put in my other daughter's month and day and her correct year. So when she got up I told her and voila it worked.

In my defense today is my other daughter's birthday so maybe I just had it on my mind.

I am definitely losing it. If I have not lost it yet .
