My mother passed away 26 years ago but I still dream about her regularly like 2 to 3 times per month but the strange thing about it is that I never knew durimg the dream that she has passed away as she always appeared to be alive and only after 30 minutes of having woken up do I remember that she is no longer in this world. Any thoughts?
Even though she's been gone over a quarter of a century, she was still a big part of your life.
Hence, when your subconscious is plucking faces from your memories to star in your dreams, it easily finds her face. Which is sweet.
If the dreams are pleasant, then take it as a gift. If not, then consider counseling to get at the root of any issues.

I was envisioning that as well - as almost a happy thing keeping you close with someone that you love and had a big impact on your life.
Is that how it feels to you?
I hope so - it sounds really positive and I hope comforting to you.
Shortly after my big brother died, about two or three in the morning, I seemed to feel him slip into the bed next to me. I felt his warmth and continued to sleep. Such a disappointment to wake to find it was a dream.
