sleepy on the beach

You could do that here, except we don't have any beaches. Well, we do, just not any water so maybe they're just piles of sand.

As Southampton is a dock we’reoften described as a seaside town. Nothing could be further from the truth, almost all the coast is riverside with thick black mud when the tide goes out.

The one exception is Western Shore which is a miserable gravelly pebble beach on Southampton Water directly opposite Fawley Refinery.

That's a shame, but on the plus side, you get to look at the ocean. I was born on the west coast and have lived here in landlocked Calgary for 13 years. I miss the balm my eyeballs get when I see oceans, or even lakes. The only water I'm near is a river and it's a puny one. Long, but puny. So, lucky you.

In my state, people can sleep on a beach during the day. At night cannot, as there is a vagrancy law. But there are homeless people all over the place now and even if the police gives them a ticket, the ticket becomes dismissed because the courts do not have the time to process them.
