Hi, my highschool English textbook had a painting of the outline of a man made up of many little men. About 6 men in various poses make the outer edge of his ear. I have searched for many hours over many years. Please help me if you know it. Thanks.

Sure it’s a painting? Or drawing? Watercolor? Pen and ink?
Is it a head shot or full body ( you mention an ear area) ?
Is there a clue about where and how the artwork was used in the book? Near a discussion on Roman Empire or mid 50s?
