Vanilla is expensive!

I don't bake. I guess if I did, I, too, would make my own vanilla extract.

That'd save you something, but the beans themselves have really shot up in price.

Vanilla is very expensive but the synthetic alternatives aren’t any good.

I once put too much in a recipe and it was inedible, (my mistake mixing up British and American measurements,) you don’t get that with the real stuff.

Vanilla is used in so many recipes, I use it all the time. You wouldn’t know to taste it, but it’s in sticky toffee pudding.

That’s not baking, and you’d need to buy the vanilla pods which aren’t cheap.

I meant that if I was a baker, I'd spend time making my own homemade vanilla extract. Since I am not a baker, I am not going to do that. No incentive.

(Nearly) Every Sunday grandm placed the cooker with milk, vanilla pulp and scraped-out vanilla on the kitchen oven and heated it.
I couldn't wait until the stuff had cooled to become pudding ... and added then grandma's homemade raspberry syrup to it.

I can’t see the point, you’re not going to save much money if any considering the cost of pods.

Or you could just use people pods instead.
