I have accidently inserted my (new) Wiltshire self sharpening knife into it's sharpening scabbard the wrong way. Upside down. Now I cannot get the knife out, no matter how hard I try. Has anyone any suggestions? There must be a knack to it. I can't be the only inane one to have done such a silly thing. The scabbard ought to be better, more clearly marked. I had been so careful, truly, but being a bit weary and not concentrating enough is the only explanation.

Looks like some WD40 is called for.
@Frank Apisa,
Thank you very much for those links. Will try WD40. Don't have a dishwasher. Cannot see how the scabbard can be dismantled. If the WD40 doesn't work I'll seek out someone a lot stronger than me to try 'brute force'. Cannot, for the life of, figure out WHY Wiltshire continues to produce such an unsatisfactory scabbard ... all they need to do is add better signage to solve the problem. I now plan to buy a paint pen marker to do my own signage. Anything else would wear away too quickly.
