Original Canvas oil painting by Earl

I have an original oil canvas painting. The signature in the lower right hand corner is just "Earl". The canvas is stapled on so according to my research it is after 1940. The condition is excellent. and the canvas show that it is old by aging. I cannot research this as I have the original and nothing to go by. On the back there is the number 20 impressed into the wood on the top of the frame. there is no color to the wood from the stamp, just the impress into the wood. On the lower right corner there is stamped "group" with a line with nothing wrote on the line. Below that it says "frame" with a line. On the line it says 1651. Below that it says "subject" with a line. On that line it says 1573. The painting is of a winter landscape. Can you help? Thanks
