Communism, Socialism, Capitalism and God

Let there be light.
But what is light?
Light can be thought of as physical or metaphysical.
Light is rationed between the day and night, light is "distributed".
At night we stumble around in the dark and during the day we are sometimes blinded by its brilliance.

We use science to understand light and even the metaphysical light is reasoned by science.
We have the heavens and the earth, but what do they represent?
The earth represents something solid like matter and the heavens represent something translucent like energy. But in essence, they are both, heaven and earth, comprised of energy.

Out of this heaven and earth comes the human body and the life force that gives the body animation.

Concerning "morality", it seems unclear where that comes from.

Is morality something innate like a gravitational pull towards what is good or is it something outside of us that we are compelled to adhere to?

And then, there is the human concept of sin, where does sin come from and how do we rid ourselves of sin after the fact?

This is where religion comes in and tries to fill the void in our understanding. Religion implies that we are incapable of understanding our world without some sort of guide.

The body is the most evident part of our existence, people do not generally debate as to the existence or nonexistence of the human body. It is a given that it is there and to most it is a highly prized possession.

There is the life force that gives the body animation; once again, people do not generally debate weather if a person is alive or dead. If this were the case, there would be dead bodies everywhere while people sit around expecting them to simply get up and live again.

It is the dilemma of sin that perplexes humanity, and the way sin is dealt with. From the very beginning it was reasoned that by taking life or giving life that life was obtained in return. Because of this, the idea of sacrifice was used to cleanse the blood of unrighteousness. But there is a difference between unrighteousness and sin. Unrighteousness seems to be a state of being where sin seems to be a fluctuating standing. So, there is the parallax between our state and our standing. The ancients use sacrifice to find a better state of being and they would use a scapegoat and send it off into the desert to signify their sins being carried away from them. The sacrifice was considered redemption and the scapegoat was considered atonement.

As time passed the whole idea of slaughtering a lamb for this sacrament began to seem barbaric to those who rationalized its meaning and purpose.
It also likewise seemed crude the use of a goat to rid oneself of their own faults.

A greater meaning was sought but this entailed giving members of society a heightened state of importance. At this time in history it seemed logical that this honor would fall upon the shoulders of the patriarch. The patriarch was the mighty one who secured sustenance and protected the family unit. So instead of a personal reckoning with God society then sought the will of the patriarch and the patriarch would bestow both the standing and state of those who lived under them. This seemed fine for many years until people began to group together into cities and the patriarchs began to war over which rule set was superior and better for humanity (warlords).

This was when the rule of kings was used, for a king would rule over them all. It was assumed that the king embodied the power of God and God's will. It was considered blasphemy to go against the will of the king as it was also blasphemy to disagree with the patriarchs before then.

So, as you see in this process the personal relationship with God was moved from the individual to the patriarch and then to the king. The king often became self-serving and people arose to oppose the will of the king, these people were called prophets and priests. The prophets spoke of doom and the priests try to bring people back to sacrifice and to themselves and act as a mediator between the people and God.

The people looked instead of the King, to an elite group of spiritualists that would rise out from among them and lead them in righteousness. For many years, the priests and prophets held a tight grip upon the will of the people. They commanded great power even over that of the kings, but they required the masses to ordain their supremacy. As time went by many of the priests became corrupt and the prophets became relegated to the outlying wilderness of society. The kings massed great armies and forcefully wristed power from the priests. The kings were corrupt, the priests were corrupt, and the prophets were marginalized. Prophets were beheaded and crucified and hung out in the public square for all to see their shame. Good people of great stature were given the punishment meant for criminals and society became a mass of lawless illiterates.

Suddenly no one wanted to atone or find redemption, but it was each person for themselves by whatever means necessary. No one took responsibility for the state or standing of themselves or others and no one cared if justice or fundamental laws we're respected. So, the people used the elites as scapegoats so they could avoid looking into their own spirituality.

This comes down to the question of what is spirituality? Many will not argue the existence of the body and the existence of the life force within the body, it is the existence of the spirit that is questionable. And so, the duty of the spirit was removed from the individual and given to the patriarch, and then to the king, and then to the priests and prophets. All the while the law slowly became of no relevance and importance. It seemed that the law was full of flaws anyway and it seemed to be crude when used to judge for it often lacked wisdom to discern the subtle intents of the heart.

This is the dilemma and out of this dilemma we are left wondering how we should rule ourselves, should we rule ourselves from within or from without. Are we the masters of our own destiny or are we mastered by those elites who ruled over us?

How shall we divide the wealth of a nation when we are divided as the people? How do we discern the rights of others when our own rights have been usurped and given to others? How do we love others when we have no mechanism within to find love and acceptance for ourselves? We ourselves become the sheep led to slaughter and we hang our societal scapegoats on crosses in the town square for all to see. We allow unscrupulous individuals the power to use wealth to rob us of our dignity and freedom.

It was around the 1st century when this entire dilemma became looked at by the greatest scholars of that time. They asked the question, where is the Holy Spirit and in whom does it reside? How is this spirit obtained and what are the benefits of such a spirit? For as we see the spirit moved from the people to the Kings and to the priests and prophets and the elites became the arbiters of its will. Only the priests knew of its secrets and they kept these secrets locked away in the holy of holies and only their eyes could look upon them.

The common person was considered unclean and incapable of knowing such. In this we see communism, socialism, capitalism and somewhere in all of that lay the ideas of our society. For in order for society to work, the individual must have a conscience… They must know wrong from right, they must have freedom of choice and liberty to comprehend the dimensions of the social edifice.

When society gives away their own spirit to the elites, they are at the mercy of the will of the elites, and the elites have their own set of standards and it is questionable where these standards are derived from. Are they derived from science, are they derived from the law, are they derived from self-seeking personal gain, are they derived for the purpose and betterment of society? How does one obtain wisdom and jurisprudence? Is it out of their own understanding or is it derived from truly a spiritual source? Are holy books even holy?

Today we have many different viewpoints on how society should be run, we have clergy, we have scientists, we have rationalists, atheists, think tanks, everyone has an opinion. We have presidents on Twitter seeking their own personal gain, we have religious clerics running states, we have organized religions run by people who followed neither science nor reason. We have profit seeking individuals who use religion and prey on vulnerable people who are genuinely seeking answers to their life’s questions.

We have the very same question that has been asked since the beginning of time. What is the human spirit and where does it live? Does it live within us or does it live within only the elites? Is God an elitist and does God give this spirit of wisdom only to rich people? We look around us and we can find wisdom in some of the lowliest of places and we find iniquity in some of the highest places. We find humility in the poor and greed in the rich, we find empathy in those who have been forgotten and pride in those in power. We find sociopaths in the well to do and innocence in those with no learning at all. Does wisdom corrupt or does it liberate? What is the way to holiness? There are many ways that seem right, but the ends thereof lead to disillusionment and grief. Who do we follow, someone who claims to know, or do we follow our own hearts? Where is the holy of holies? Is it inside of us or is it somewhere out of our reach? For the answers of how society should be run and how our wealth should be distributed hinges on how a human being perceives themselves.

If we use a scapegoat to rid ourselves of responsibility then we will become blind to our own involvement in society. But if we take upon ourselves all the sins of the world then will we be able to recover from such a fate? And we wonder why people are the way they are. Some people have anxiety, stress, depression when there is really no reason for them to be so. And some people have no concept of the harm they do to others due to their calloused behavior and thoughtless contempt.

It would seem that we are able to see the works of the spirit after the fact, that a person is judged by their behavior rather than their intents unless their intents become evident. And people will judge others based upon their own set of standards that many don't follow themselves and these standards can be derived from the ideas of people who are unworthy to make such standards. Out of all of this we get a hodgepodge of people going their own way regardless of the consequences.

We have a mixture of elites and the masses all adding their two cents. Some use logic, some use facts, some use intellect, some use emotion, some use the words of others and some speak from their own hearts.

Some speak with money, some speak with rationale, some speak with threats to force their way upon others, some lovingly convince others to see their way. Some follow along because somebody they know also followed along, some see the reason in things and some simply blindly follow without any reason whatsoever. And we are supposed to wonder, where is the spirit in all of this? For the spirit certainly cannot embody pure chaos. If this is the case, the spirit is merely a schizophrenic force of happenstance and whim. We could then surmise that the spirit is neither holy, nor evil and it has no intelligence behind it seeking the best for us. Likewise, life would have no purpose and there would be no reason to seek or pursue happiness.
Is God a capitalist if God has no purpose? Is God as socialist if God has no empathy? His God a communist if God has no concept of sharing? For God so loved the world that he gave...

How did God give? Did God give only to the elites? Did God give only to the wise? Did God give to everyone without exception or were there certain strings attached? Is the spirit something we work for like going to work for money? We work for a little bit and we get a little bit of spirit and if we don't work for a while, we lose our spirit? Is this spirit unconditional where even when we are drowning in sin the spirit is still pure and there, incorruptible, and perfect. Or can we corrupt this spirit? Does our spirit grow, and can it die? The way God delves out spirit might give us a clue on how we should distribute wealth...

We see many Christians and religious people who don't have a brain in their heads, they are radical and far from holy. And we have the Pope telling us that atheists can go to heaven. The criteria for entering heaven may be as elusive as the criteria for obtaining spirit. For many who professed themselves to be holy certainly do not demonstrate spiritual qualities. So, it seems that maybe God has a sense of humor after all and gives the spirit to those less likely to deserve it. In God's infinite wisdom the spirit is creatively given not to the elites, not to the kings, not to the priests and prophets and evangelists but it is given to the fools... And it will be the fools that will lead us to reason.

And there are fools who are communists, fools who are capitalists and fools who are socialists there are fools in all walks of life and fools who find they are fools only to realize they have been given the greatest gift obtainable in life. For what does the proud self-made person need of God? How shall a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven? For to receive something from God requires meekness and… the meek shall inherit the earth. But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

The answers are Faith, acceptance, appreciation for what one has and willingness to be one of many while maintaining self.

Capitalism, Communism, Socialism are merely man-made creations. As with all creations made by people, these things are doomed to fail to satisfy large swathes of humankind.

@Sturgis,
Faith in what Sturgis? Faith in God? Whose definition of God? Perhaps that is what a fool does, believes in something that is intangible.

What you said about a "willingness to be one of the many while maintaining self", that strikes a chord with me; that is a very well expressed idea.

Let's hope that if there is an afterlife we can bring along with us the better parts of our good nature.

Being happy in the moment is a good way to live. All very good and reasonable responses, thanks for your comment.

@TheCobbler,
If one believes that Jesus Christ was god than he was a socialist. All you have to do is read the new testament. You know the Christian bible.

@TheCobbler,

Faith in what?

In whatever a person thinks/believes keeps the universe going along, with all its ups and downs and downs and ups. It need not be something or someone named God. And yes, intangible.

@RABEL222,
Jesus also advocates capitalism and the paying of taxes.

And the apostles advocated communism.

Jesus respected the rule of emperors and his parents paid taxes to Rome. Jesus was sympathetic but not openly opposed to slavery.

Jesus was typically a beggar and is not ever recorded as being paid a wage for a day's work. Perhaps this was because Jesus worked for "his father" and not for any typical employer that we know of.

This was not to say that Jesus did not work...

Jesus also advocated being educated and many of his parables are about masonry and temple building. This might imply that Jesus worked for the church and was knowledgeable of the scriptures.

So what are we to surmise from all of this?

That the spirit can operate within societal norms but sometimes with disastrous outcomes.

Jesus speaks of freedom and liberation, he speaks of law and honoring commitments. He advocates that law can have many interpretations and that sometimes a greater law is at work.

He also warns of using law for hypocrisy and greed.

He cleverly ridicules clerics and lawyers.

He defends prostitutes and sinners, (a real liberal).

He sometimes seems like a perfect example of what to do to piss off those of authority. And he succeeds in changing the world even at the cost of his own life.

So was it his death that changed the world or the spirit of his life that changed the world? It is apparent that much of his life was concocted by fictional writers and has little real basis in fact other than, once again, the spirit of the message.

These writers apparently had an agenda to tear down the old law and usher in a new law that was less draconian and more compassionate.

This new law seems to have been steered off a cliff and ended up somehow confused (too many cooks in the kitchen). And it was the glimmer of truth scattered throughout the writings that carry them to warrant further consideration.

Like an unending sequel that keeps being added upon and we are today still writing new episodes to the saga...

Lately, I have had many soul-searching moments wondering how to perceive republicans and their travesty of Trump in light of my own faith.

I do not have much faith because I seem to have more doubts about the historicity and the truthfulness and ethical veracity of the scriptures preferring science, modern philosophy, reason and rationalism.

But there are parts of Christianity and religion that seem to be useful.

As a recovering alcoholic and three years of sobriety through AA eventually I reached the dreaded 4th step. Making amends to people I have inadvertently harmed...

This step requires vigorous honesty and a conscience. This is the thing I see lacking in republicans and Trump followers of his fake Christian cult.

They have no conscience or tender mercies.

As I struggle with asking God or the higher powers to be, to forgive me for my mistakes, I see Trump's folk out there making egregious mistake after mistake with no end in sight.

As the Bible exhorts us to study and rightly divide the scriptures, I see them twisting and contorting the message to fit their narrow racist and hateful definition.

And then when it comes to mercy (withholding judgement) and grace (divine favor) and forgiveness... I expect forgiveness for my own mistakes, but I somehow do not feel they are deserving of forgiveness.

First off they do not feel they are doing anything wrong in hating people with racism and flouting their white nationalist greed and privilege.

They feel entitled and praise their god as if God is white and so are they...

I chalk up many of my past mistakes to being unlearned and caught up in the addiction and I wonder if these people are simply suffering inside with some unresolved problem buried deep within, mixed with a lack of intelligence.

I have a mechanism within to go to my higher power and seek a resolution to my faults, but they seem to revel in their dishonesty and hate.

And the word "pardons" gets lobbied about and I wonder if they are deserving of pardons. Donald Trump may manufacture his own pardon, but will he change? Will he suddenly stop attacking people for his own self-enrichment and hateful greed?

Can I forgive Trump or Trump voters?

I feel like passing the buck and leaving better people than me to make this decision but something inside me says, "No!". These Trump enablers need to be made aware that they have helped aid and abet a racist and cruel, sad excuse for a human being.

They have hurt many people with their threatening and ignorant stance on life. They have shown no love, forgiveness and compassion, why do they deserve this in return?

Then I wonder what it is in them that makes them incapable of seeing this?

Should I pray for them? Should I feel pity because something inside of them is broken for whatever reason? Is there a sick romantic attraction to this, "feel sorry for me because I am messed up" routine of theirs. God forbid that I become consumed out of some misguided attempt to be, "more Christian".

And I hear Jesus in my mind telling me to forgive as many time as there are grains of sand. But is forgiving, a pardon for bad behavior? I don't think forgiveness and pardons are one and the same.

And I wonder is this because they did not learn how to read and they did something in their past that they have buried deep and are so remorseful for it that they are blinded by the brilliance? Such to the degree that they would lie and hate and become fake Christians with others of their ilk to cover it up?.

Because they are incapable of honesty, they have accepted the things they could change because they have no courage and intelligence to know the difference.

They therefore cannot get down on their knees in humility and humanity and see that their hate and fear of black and brown people is wrong.

The Bible talks of people who have been "singed with a hot iron in their brain".

What does this mean? Well, it means that these Trump cultists have been burnt in their minds or rather their own guilt has burned and left scar tissue in their brains. The problem with scar tissue is it will probably never heal... It is tough and incapable of being tender like regular skin. Not unlike a flowering bud that in the winter gets burned by the freezing bitter winter air, this causes the outside of the bud to become hardened and it can no longer flower and grow. Because it is no longer tender, but it is callused and in this state its insides become rank, bitter and full of rot.

And what of unconditional love? If we claim to be Christians and have no love, "we are nothing", I am nothing.

It seems the weakest part of our society becomes a priority. Can they change? Probably not... But we do not need to drive the knife in deeper. We do not need to abstract our pound of flesh. We do not need to make their journey even harder. Falling into their trap of hate only incriminates us in their hate. Should we love them? Love your enemies?

There are many kinds of love. This situation calls for the possibility of two kinds of love.

One is compassion and one is pity. Compassion is when you can do something to help change them and pity is when you know they will continue to bask in their racist hate. Their racism has degenerated them into the evolutionary misfits they accuse others of.

But remember that pity is still a form of love, love without hypocrisy. Pity still requires a certain amount of civility and kindness. Pity is not a go on your way and continue to hate others card though. Hate needs to be confronted and we as a society need to insure that hate is not tolerated...

Where did communism come from?

Google/Wikipedia says this: In its modern form, communism grew out of the socialist movement in 19th-century Europe. As the Industrial Revolution advanced, socialist critics blamed capitalism for the misery of the proletariat—a new class of urban factory workers who labored under often-hazardous conditions.

Comment
It might surprise people that communism is much older and dates back to the time of the crusades, equally with early Muslims, Christians and Jews all prescribing to early forms of communism.

Even today, religious people share wealth among their own adherents giving them a "leg up" over their non religious counterparts.

Even royal family lineages, "dynasties" use communism to promote their own offspring, giving them unfair advantages over others.

It seems words like commonwealth and phrases like "The American Dream" and even capitalism imply that our society is based upon a secular move away from these communistic instruments, where, everyone has a fair chance to become prosperous. Even though this is an ideal, the reality is that capitalism favors the rich and corporate communism is just as rampant as other forms of communism.

Businesses skirting taxes through legal loopholes is just another form of government sanctioned exceptionalism.

Targeted communism is used to give unfair advantages to the elite.
