Hannibal was one of the rare broadcast network series which its makers were allowed to not pull their storytelling punches. Admittedly, one of the biggest weaknesses of the series, several of the main characters spilled some much blood, it makes you wonder how some of them survived the number of violent acts that fell upon them in their respective story arcs.
The character of Dr. Chilton can't possibly come back to the series. His body was covered (70 to 80+%) third-degree burns. Then again, some of the characters have returned to full health after what appeared to be obvious mortal wounds.
Gillian Anderson's Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier might show up in flashbacks given the end credit scene directly implying Hannibal's survival from falling off of the cliff with Will Grahm and that we see the cooked leg of Bedelia on a feast table while Bedelia is tied and drugged waiting for Hannibal to enter the dining room.
Where should they go after the show was cancelled over 5 years ago*?
They likely can't go directly to cover the Silence of the Lamb book.
I stopped watching when they went over the events of Red Dragon.
In the end it was style over substance, too much time spent on artistic blood spatter patterns and **** like that. Plus Hannibal Lector is the biggest Mary Sue going.
The best thing Michael Madsen was in is Flame and Citron a film noir about partisan assassins during the Nazi occupation of Denmark.
Maybe they'll rebroadcast the previous episodes. It would serve a variety of purposes.
Since when do broadcast networks rebroadcast random episodes of shows canceled more five years ago? Can you name any relevant examples?

Oh... A search of recent events says the first 3 seasons are on Netflix. Unclear if there is to be more.
Chances are that NBC isn't going to pick it up for another season. If they do, it will likely go straight to their Peacock streaming service. A better bet is that Netflix or Amazon Prime will produce and stream the fourth (and very likely final season).
And, well, I'm not the originator of the idea that there will be a fourth season. Rumors, seeded by Bryan Fuller and the cast, have been bouncing around for at least a year or two.

Yeah. I don't blame you. The Red Dragon story arc was a bit labored and forced. Made for a very long 4 arc episode.
Wrong actor. Michael Madsen is the somewhat mediocre action actor/weirdo Quentin Tarantino loves. Hannibal was played by Mads Mikkelsen.
