Would be very grateful for any help i can get to translate this unmarked stone inscription found in the woods in southern Sweden. All i know is that the sculptors name is Brunius (Bruni). No idea how good this guys latin was. I am 95% sure of the lettering but some of the O’s might be C’s or Q’s and vice versa.

HÆC BRUNI SCULPSIT TIBI DISTICHA VATES QUI CARCENEI PARS QUOTAUNQUE CHORI EST DOCTRINA CLARUS GENITOR STUDIOQUE COLENDI BIS, TANI PASTOR RITE CREARIS EQUES. VARBURGUM VITAM TRIBUIT SLÆTOGHRA PUELLAM SISQUE SUPER TIBI SEX FILIUS UNUS ERAT. 1817.

Any input is welcome, Thank you.

@Bernward Bienewitz,
There is a poster that helps with Latin but I doubt he’s seen your thread.

You need to be more specific about what you want and Stone inscription says nothing.

Tag this thread Latin translation.

Actually you might want to start a new thread called Latin translation with the same question. That might get a response.
