Commemoration of God's Love Test for Abraham

Why did only 1 (Islam) out of all Abrahamic religions continue the commemoration of the “sacrifice” ritual by slaughtering sheep/cattle every year on “Eid ul Adha”? Why not the other two prior religions (Judaism and Christianity) that originated ‘closer’ to the actual event timeframe?

Although there are other scenarios where similar type of questions can be asked but this one is different because all Abrahamic religions strongly believe in this story, God’s overall intent thru this “test”, and consider Abraham to be one of the prominent founding prophets of their religion.

@ayeshasalam,
Actually....

I think that this is one of the most awful things that God did (assuming the story is correct).

Asking someone to kill their own child. That makes God a merciless tyrant.

I have never liked this story.

@ayeshasalam,
Killing IS Killing.

Whether the victim is human, animal, insect or plant.

Killing IS Killing

Is Killing OK?

Have a Lovely Day
