Only the insurance company benefits from Obamacare - eliminate the large deductibles and it would be of much greater benefit.
Obamacare is basically useless and costing the taxpayers dearly. ie,
A relative of mine has a Blue Cross health insurance policy through Obamacare. She has a small monthly premium, and the government is assisting with $1000/month additionally to meet the total premium cost. Her policy has no benefits until a $7000 deductible is met. How do people like her and millions of others living paycheck to paycheck just to get by, get $7000 to meet a large deductible . Of course, it's useful in long term hospital stays where one might face hundreds of thousands of dollars in costs. However, in cases where the patients are in needy circumstances, the hospital would probably just have to eat the bill anyway.

@Jep32,
I have a couple questions here.

1) What would your relative do without Obama care?
2) Such a high deductible plan with a $1000/month subsidy seems untenable. What other options did she have?
3) How typical is this one example?

I think you are claiming that no one benefits from Obama care. I also think that it is pretty easy to show that this isn't true. There are many people who do get decent insurance from Obamacare that they wouldn't have had otherwise. It is pretty easy to show that the number of uninsured Americans has gone down after Obamacare.

I personally believe that we should go to single payer healthcare. This would be better than Obamacare by far in my opinion. I am not sure if we have the political will to get there (at least not yet).

@maxdancona,
I've wondered what single payer really means. I mean, I and my employer's paid into medicare since the day it went into effect. Since age 65, I've had deductions from SS, which currently runs over $140.00 per month, and I still have a deductible of 20% of total bill. What kind of deal are you looking for from our ungrateful kids?

If I sound stingy, that's okay, but I'm thinking they ought to put in about the same time and dollars as I have if they're going to be getting about the same benefit. Neither Medicare A nor B covers prescriptions, hearing aids, nor most dental.

I should mention that the VA sometimes does much, much more - in certain cases.
