Which is a better choice:

Please remit payment as soon as possible in order to continue moving forward with the project.
or
Please remit payment as soon as possible so that we can continue moving forward with the project.

The phrase “in order to” and “so that“ mean the same thing. As such, they may be used interchangeably.

With this being said, I’d shorten it in the following way:

Please remit payment as soon as possible so that the project continues to move forward .
