Me and my Ex were emailing back and forth I just wanted to know why he blocked my number he responded ""Hitting the "reset button", while taking the chance at a "true friendship", "in time". What does that even mean.

He wants you to leave him alone right now (and apparently you aren't, hence he's blocked you).
So leave him alone.
“ Hitting the reset button” could mean he’s starting his love life over, maybe with someone else.
Hopes he can someday be friends with you, someday.
He has put you into the “ friend zone .”
Respect that he has moved on and does not want contact with you, nor even a discussion about it.
