One of my rats, Ned had a tumour removed last week and ever since then I’ve noticed that she’s got random bold spots, one by her eye and when on her chest. Now I’ve only just noticed that she has a wound on her back and it looks fairly big. Doesn’t look as if it’s been bleeding at all though. I’ve just now put some salty warm water on it using a cotton swab, she doesn’t seem bothered by it at all really but I’m very worried as i have no idea where it came from! Her and her cage mate fight occasionally but Ned has all been the boss and she’s always the one on top of Niki so I don’t think it could be them fighting, i thought he could be cause by her grooming herself or something. I don’t know what to do now as the vets are closed and if possible i want to avoid spending £31 for a check up incase it the problem isn’t ad big ad I thought it’d be and me and my boyfriend have already spent £180 on her tumour removal which really burnt a whole! Any advice would be helpful!!!

Firstly, I hope it is not anything seriously wrong.
Secondly, never take a chance. Although the cost now may be painful, it is far cheaper than having to say goodbye forever if the creature dies. And cheaper than the costs might be if there is a health concern which would develop into a long term treatment as opposed to just one time cost.

I wish you, Ned, and others the best.
