Hi I am building a new house, I have done a fair amount of basic wiring in the past but as I was double checking things online I found something that has me confused, it says that as of 2011 wiring a light fixture apparently requires three wire and the white is simply capped in the box? This seems strange to me, I would like to find out what the deal is. So the red would then be the neutral going to the light? Or no neutral connection at all going to the light? Most of the diagrams I see look like the regular two wire connection I am used to, but this other one is different, maybe it only applies in certain cases? Any advice is appreciated, thanks
or two wire still works but there is no neutral? thanks.
