Was the word 'blood' once pronounced with "oo"?!

Does it exist that the word 'blood' once generally pronounced with "oo"?!
I ask this for the following reason. I found even two English translation of János Arany's "The bards of Wales" and here is the two translations of the same verse:

1: "Show me the yield of every field,
The grain, the grass, the wood!
Is all the land now moist and rich
With red rebellious blood?"

2: "Are stream and mountain fair to see?
Are meadow grasses good?
Do corn-lands bear a crop more rare
Since wash'd with rebel's blood?"

It’s known as an eye rhyme.

It's very strange, all the other rhymes are normal rhymes. An eye rhyme has no sense, I think.
