It looked like Martin or Marti to me, but I’ve got a small screen.

It looked like Mardi/17 to me.

If it were me, I’d stop by at an art gallery or historian and seek out their expertise. Sotheby’s is in that business. Looking back over your posting history in the last 2 years, You’ve asked several art identification questions so it would make sense to go to a reliable resources such as an art historian.

Thanks for your suggestion. I’ll try reaching out to one of the auction galleries for help. I received a response from a museum in town who would get back to me. However since the museum has been closed indefinitely they do not have the same resources available to research.

My father said it was ok to remove the paper backing to expose the back of the canvas. Upon doing so I found the following and provided this image to my museum contact and contact at Hindman Auctions. Thank you again for taking the time to look at this post.
