If you treat your children the exact same way that your parents treated you Then your children are going to have the same exact same feelings towards you as you did your parents

@Methen,
I disagree. People are different. Each person is going to respond to their experience with their parents in a different way.

How you feel about your parents has to do with your relationship with them (which includes how they treated you). It also has to do with what your friends say, with what you read or see on TV, with cultural influences, with any experiences you had that weren't your parents fault like sickness or injury....

People aren't machines where you can predict how they feel based on certain factors.

That being said, of course I think that parents should treat their children well.

@Methen,
Wrong! I am a completely different person than my mother is and therefore I have raised my child differently. Unconditional love is the basis of course, but I grew up in a different environment than my child has. It will never be the same treatment, in addition to hoping that your relationship with your children is as close as yours were with your parents.

Disagree - each individual is unique and different - therefore your child may react and feel differently than you did.
