I am recently reading poe's works,and got stuck with "The mental features discoursed of as the analytical,are,in themselves,but little susceptible of analysis."Can someone plz explain what this passage means?It confuses me...!!!

Presumably the mental skills that people consider analytical are things like the capacity for logic and rational thinking.


"are, in themselves, but little susceptible of analysis."

I would take this as a claim that humankind has little understanding of the inner workings of our own minds.
