Porch Pirates? Scourge of the Seven Stoops?

Porch pirates are the modern day Grinches. Who here has delivered packages stolen from their front door?

I am fortunate enough to have my packages delivered to work and my Amazon packages delivered to my home are safely grabbed by my landlord in a timely fashion.

@tsarstepan,

has not happened to us, mainly because we have a fairly large front yard.

but it has happened to neighbors whose houses are close to the sidewalk...

I use the USPS as much as possible. I had a problem with UPS a few years back, but it was due to an error on the part of the driver.

Not particularly large packages. And some packages I get here are kept here at my desk. Had my new passport delivered here. No worries about that being lost or stolen.

I was supposed to get a package yesterday. Knowing UPS I expected it at 8pm - I checked the door around that time and nothing (didn't think so as the doggies would have barked). Checked again before I went to bed nothing even though I had an email from them saying my package had been delivered. It had snowed so I only saw tire tracks going into the garage and no foot prints so no one came.

Today I checked to see if it was in the mailbox - nope. I called the business and they said they have been having many issues with deliveries - I just said credit me back and forget about re-shipping as I would not get it until the 23rd and only if it was still available.

Wonder what the UPS driver did?

We also are far off the road and get many packages - never had an issue - I think the doggie barking also helps as well.

@Linkat,
In my case I was not home, so the UPS driver found somebody down the block to leave it with - it being a turkey dinner complete with a cooked turkey. After more than a day of us in the dark, the neighbor brought over most of the trimmings but said there was no turkey.

@Ragman,
I blew it off. Don't need a war with somebody living so close.
