@harpazo,

i guess it was trig.

everybody hated the teacher (Mr. "F") because he sprung a pop quiz on us a few times a week, every week.

but for some reason i understood where he was coming from, focused on the work and wound up acing every quiz...

I'd vote trig also.

@tsarstepan,
Most people who hate math do not understand it. Is this where you stand?

@Region Philbis,
I understand. You can always ask me for a review of trig. I am an online math tutor. I help middle school and high school kids with math homework at no charge.

@Region Philbis,
linear algebra an diff equations. It opened up building mind models and projections and vectors.

Its like the first time one came up with an TRS -80 desktop,(Im that old) where you could write your entire ideas in dependent vector amd matrix equations that, if you shut down the power itd all disappear ALL ON 64 K of memory (I forget how many K exactly)

@farmerman,
Linear algebra and differential equations are super cool courses. Matrix algebra is truly amazing, to say the least.

I despised trig. Got a 24 on the midline final. Great teacher, I was just not intellectually there (or physically half the time). The teacher was great. He even gave me an opportunity. If I passed the next term, the grade from his class would be passing. If I failed the next term, it would be a fail for his class. As far as I can recall, that was something only done with math classes back then (the 60s)

Geometry was a breeze and algebra was not to bad. Calculus was almost fun.

@Sturgis,
There's plenty of trig in calculus. In fact, it is impossible to make it through calculus 1, 2, and 3 without a decent trig background. Why did you hate trig?

sin x + cos x = 1

Solve for x.

Just kidding....

@harpazo,
Why was I not fond of trig?

Hmm... Class at 7:30 each morning and winter arrived early and brutally that year. Cold and snow and more snow. Besides I was 16 and had the right to dislike something.

@Sturgis,
I disagree. What if you were taking your favorite under the same conditions at the same age?
