To be fanatical about our religious view leads to unnecessary conflict. Do you agree?

@cherrie,
History has proven that most major wars have been causes by religion. You know, my religion is better than yours.

The last two world wars were not. The Korean War was not. The Viet Nam war was not.

I'm not a defender of religion and have no such belief myself. But your claim is just wrong.

@blatham,
Of course, everything I have posted on this site is wrong, right? You know what, I'll just stay within the math forums from now. We know that 2 + 2 in our base 10 system is 4. There is no disagreement in the world of math.

@harpazo,
I've seen three or four of your posts that I can recall. But the facts don't bear out your proposition as voiced above and I gave you some obvious examples. Rather than get huffy at having the proposition questioned or countered, it's probably better to rethink and modify. That's a foundational element of good inquiry whether in science or history or other subject areas.

The human is a territorial animal. Religion is just one aspect of territoriality.

@blatham,
There is also the case that students can solve algebra 1 and 2 word problems, for example, and not understand calculus word problems.

Hearty congratulations and welcome back, we don't get too many people here who liken there knowledge of war to algebra students that don't understand calculus word problems.

Dare I suggest that you follow your instincts and post a mathematical conundrum?

@nacredambition,
I obviously posted a reply about math in the wrong place.

Exactly so. And below that sits conceptions of "our" territory... the us/not us differentiation.
